Sesame Street Live

Today we took Maddox and Landon to see Sesame Street Live Elmo's Green Thumb. We picked Landon up a little before noon and set off on our journey.

Both boys looked a little sleepy so we were hoping that they would nap a little on the way. We even got stuck in traffic on I-45 on the way, so there was plenty of sleep opportunity.

Maddox finally nodded off right before we stopped for lunch at McDonald's so he maybe got 15 minutes of shut eye.

Both boys ate their lunch and we packed back in the truck and headed to Reliant Arena for the show. We parked no problem and off we went. As we were walking I asked Max if he had the tickets and he had left them in the truck, so the boys and I hung out by a tree in the parking lot while Max ran back to the truck.

We got through the line and as soon as we walked in the doors both boys were in awe ( of what I am not sure but they were). Maddox proclaimed that this was "Awesome!"

We decided to hit the restrooms first thing so we wouldn't have to go during the show. With all on empty we headed for our seats. The boys had fun playing around waiting for the show to start.

Once the show started both boys were enthralled. I am really glad that they both enjoyed it.

You could tell that both of them were tired. Especially during the intermission, but they fought threw it without sleep.

Atleast for a little while... Maddox fell asleep on my arm right before the end and Landon looked like he was close to dozing off as well.

Both boys wanted the balloons they sold at intermission and the light up toys. I wasn't about to break the bank so after the show we headed to Party City for some balloons and toys. I found just the right things and both boys were all set. We took a detour home so we wouldn't get stuck in the awful traffic again. Right before we got to Landon's to drop him off.... He fell asleep. He had a long day. I believe that both boys had a grand time.

Is it time yet?

The other morning the little guy crawled in bed with us around 5 am. No harm done he slept most of the night in his own bed. (We are still a work in progress). At about 6:45 he pops up and says "Rise and Shine, The sun is up!" This is his usual morning greeting. He then rolls over my way and says, "Mommy where is the remoke? I wanna watch Scooby." My reply, "Not right now. In a little while." He proceeds to roll over his Daddy's way. I hear the next part quite clearly. "Daddy can I watch TV?" Daddy says, "In a little while!" So the ever planning little one rolls back over to my side, curls up real close, grabs my arm, hugs it, mumbles that he loves me, THEN looks at my watch, makes it light up and proclaims "It says, A LITTLE WHILE!"

Givin' The What For?

Lately my little guy has gotten quite the little attitude. Not in a bad way but it is hilarious. Tonight he gave Daddy the what for.

Daddy: "Time to put your pjs on!"

Maddox: "Not yet, I have one more tv to watch! Then I get my pjs, then get you, read a book and go Night Night! You wait one minute." (All said with lots of finger pointing and shaking.)

He is so matter of fact lately it is funny. I try very hard not to bust out laughing when he is being so serious. Max totally got a good laugh out of the exchange from last night about getting ready for bed.
Lately there is so much good stuff to write about I just forget to write it down.

Christmas in Review

Tuesday Dec 23rd we headed to Louisiana. Maddox in the third row, Daddy laid up in the second row, and Mommy at the wheel. Good thing I know how to drive the Expedition with a big blind spot right in the middle of the back window. We got to Eunice about 5pm. Ali was waiting on Maddox. The two of them played their hearts out. At about 8pm the crew came to visit at Andre's and we had 7 kids under the age of 4 (Most of them 3) running around. It was wild, but they had a great time!
Wednesday Dec 24th Maddox and Ali woke up to lots of presents under the tree. They had a great time opening all of their gifts. We had a wonderful lunch thanks to Andre! Nice to visit with Maw Maw Pont, Uncle Larry, Pawsy, Paran, Ali, and Uncle Milton even dropped by for a few minutes. We headed out to Roanoke at about 8 or so that night. Once we got to the house we all went for a quick drive to Jennings to see Christmas lights... and what is a trip to Louisiana without a drive thru daiquiri-Bubba's Chosen Frozen was literally one of the only things open on Christmas eve.
Thursday Dec 25th Maddox woke up right in time to open presents as the last one had been placed under the tree. He opened a TON of Batman and Superfriends toys. I really don't know if we have enough room for all of his stuff now. We had a nice day of hanging around with Granny and Auntie Shyra. Granny made Max's favorite chicken & dumplin's for lunch. Yummy!!! Did I mention that it was almost 80° and so muggy you could cut the air with a knife. No white Christmas for us... not even close.
Friday Dec 26th was spent preparing for the Dees Family game night. One of my favorite parts of the holidays. We always end up laughing till we can't stop. This year we played Family Feud for the first time. It was soooo funny. We had a great host and lots of awesome contestants. What is a name that you would call your pet but wouldn't want to be named??? Puss puss...While the adults played games and chatted the kids had a BLAST running around after each other. I know mine slept like a log that night. I hope Will, Sarah and Jude did too!
Saturday Dec 27th was spent lounging around visiting a few family members we hadn't seen yet and packing to head home. We went by Auntie Una's house and played the Wii Fit for a little bit. Lets just say I know that I will never be a hula hooper or a tight rope walker, but I am a decent ski jumper (even though I have never put on a pair of ski's). Auntie Shyra is an awesome hula girl. Nick ski jumps pretty well too! Auntie Una is a ball of snow and Kasey has some of the best balance on the planet. We had fun! After that we hit the road. The weather was ugly and rained a good bit of the way home. Driving a big SUV in the wind and the rain is no fun at all. I was glad to be home in my own bed, but we had a great Christmas trip!A funny note from when we got back. The James family sent Maddox a gift and we unwrapped it when we got home. Little guy looks at the label on the gift and says "It says I was good today! so I can open my present."

What do you want for Christmas?

I was going to try to write a letter to Santa for the little guy this year. So hubby asks him what he would like for Christmas. He responds with " I want a pumpkin I can wear on my head!" The things that boy says sometimes I just don't know where they come from. I am going to try to ask him again to see what other wonderful things he wants Santa to bring him.

The new room

We recently moved Maddox to his new room. It is down the hall from ours where the study used to be. So far it is working out alright. He does still wander in to our room during the night. I figure the beginning of the New Year we will hard core try to break him of this but the holidays will be hard core.

So tonight my little man has been wired. I mean really wound up. It didn't matter what I asked him to do he was not paying attention. So when he asked to watch TV and have a cookie (not together), he was told "Nope, Boys who don't listen don't get to have cookies or watch TV! Those are rewards and you haven't done what you were told." So as you can imagine that didn't go over too well. He tells me "Mommy, You not listening right!" and then walks into his new room and slams the door behind him. I figured it would be a little longer before I would get the storming off into his room thing, but I guess he really does take after his mom. So he comes in and tells me he is sorry and asks again for a cookie and tv. He gets the same answer. Once again he marches down the hall, looks back at me and says "You can't go in my room!" and closes the door behind him.
After a while he came out and tried again with his Daddy. That didn't work either. Then he proceeded to tell his Daddy that "Mommy not my friend anymore. She no listen to me. I want my cookie and TV and she wont let me have them!"
Sometimes I feel like he is a teenager already!

All Clean

So this morning as we are getting ready to go to church my little guy is quietly watching Home Alone 3 in the front while we are in the back getting ready. He ran in at one point and grabbed something, put it behind his back and in a flash he was gone. I didn't really think anything of it as he has been doing that a lot lately. I am finished getting dressed and go in the front to check on him when what do I find....

That thing he had picked up and put behind his back was a travel sized bottle of shampoo. I didn't know this at first viewing the scene. All I could see was there was a white substance coating the dvd player and parts of the table it was on. Then I saw the small bottle on the floor. I pick it up... empty. The entire contents had been poured out over the dvd player, table, a book, a dvd, the support box for the tv and the tv speakers
. I just didn't know what to say. I stood there speechless for a minute and then did what any mother would do. I went and grabbed my camera for blackmail material later on or proof of the event, whichever comes first.
When his father came up to see what all the commot
ion was about he just stood there speechless as well.
What do you say to an entire entertainment area covered in shampoo.
When asked why he had done it the reply I got was.. "I wanted to make it clean!"
After quite a bit of cleaning we got all the shampoo off of everything. I don't believe that anything was permanently damaged. Thankfully!

Snow!!!

Tonight it snowed! For many of you out there this isn't a big deal but here it is a rare occurrence. Let me just say we took this opportunity to enjoy the snow. It was the first time my little guy has seen snow. It went over big. He loved making snow balls and throwing them. Here are a few pics for you to enjoy. After we played in the snow we went in for a cup of hot chocolate. What a great unexpected evening!

Rock Star

Last night while hanging out with Mommy and Daddy my little guy found a sheet of star stickers. He proceeded to use the whole sheet of stickers. He didn't place them on the furniture, the walls, or even a piece of paper. He put them all over his arms. He then ran around the house telling us he was a "Rock Star!".
He had a really fun night with the stickers, playing hide and seek with us and he even tried on my GW Bush Halloween mask. There is something a little scary about a 3 year old in a giant mask of the President. If you are wondering why I have a GW Halloween mask. A couple of years ago I was a Rose Bush for our Halloween competition which consisted of dressing up like GW covered in roses.

Baptism Day

11-13-2005

11-13-2006

11-13-2008

Today is Maddox's Baptism Day! We do a mini celebration every year on the day he was baptised. My sister, his godmother made him the cutest plate for his baptism. We have it hung on his wall. Every year for his Baptism Day she sends him a cookie(s). We take the special plate off the wall and he eats his cookie from his plate. Here are a few pics from this special event. I couldn't find the pictures from last year, but I will keep looking.

Super Duper Halloween

We had a super duper Halloween. This year little guy wanted to be Superman. I was actually surprised that he didn't want to be Batman. All this week he has asked if it was Halloween yet and time for his party. He has been very excited this year. At his school they had a class party and then all of the classes had a parade of costumes in the parking lot. It was really cute and nice to see the other kids and parents. I promised Maddox that I would make it to his party. Daddy even stopped by his class for a few minutes before going back to work.

I went and sat with the kids for their party, then hung out with them outside and then helped get everyone dressed in their costumes.

While the teacher was taking care of stuff in the class the kids and I sang a few songs. Then everyone's parents arrived for the parade.

It was really cute. I hope they do it again.
After that we went by to check on Ms. Jodie and Landon. They were taking an afternoon nap in the back yard so we decided to go back later and went to the grocery store. At the store the kids could decorate their own cookies and they gave out candy. He was all about the candy and cookies. After that we went home and prepared to go trick or treating at the house.
We got Granny all set up to hand out candy and then Superman and I hit the neighborhood. Usually Daddy hits the neighborhood with him but this year Daddy is on crutches with a fractured ankle so Mommy filled in. We had a great time. He loved ringing the doorbells, but instead of saying trick or treat all the time he would just say "Please!"

Just a few funnies.
On my way home the boys called cause little guy had to tell me to go get Granny. "Mommy you go to store and pick up Granny!" Mommy, "Granny is not at the store, but you will see her tomorrow." Maddox, "No Mommy, Granny at the store. You go pick her up. Find her behind the book! Granny behind the book at the store" I find this funny because you can usually find Granny at the store in the book section trying to find her next book to read.
Last night the boys went to watch the Clear Lake -vs-Dickinson HS Football game. When they got home Maddox tells me "Mommy I saw Wonderwomans!", "Wonderwomans were dancing at the game!" I said you mean the cheerleaders. "Yup the wonderwomans! and I saw the alligator too! He went chomp chomp!"
This morning he tells me mommy I go stay here and sleep, watch tv and eat donuts. When I got up this morning he says mommy where you going? I am going to use the potty. He says "I go with you!" Then beats me down the hall, blocks the door and says "You have to wait your turn! I go first." On a potty note the other night for the first time at home he says "I need go potty!" Then proceedes to go into the bathroom, turn on the light, lift the seat and use it all by himself without asking us to come with him. Hopefully this means even more potty independence. He usually makes us go with him even though we just wait for him.

Weekend Update

What a nice relaxing weekend. Saturday morning we spent cleaning up and getting ready to go watch USM play Rice. We met Daddy right after he finished work. Made it a Mississippi day by all wearing our black and gold and stopping to eat lunch at McAllisters. Nothing like good ol' sweet tea. We headed to the game. The parking was awesome. Didn't have to walk far at all. Not like the LSU games we are used to. I believe there are more people that attend the Dickinson high school football games than do the Rice games. I was a little sad for the Rice team when there were almost as many fans cheering for USM than they had at a home game. We all got a little sun burnt from the glare off the empty bleachers. Overall it was a nice game to watch. Little guy mostly played with his super heroes and had popcorn and sno-cones. His favorite part was watching Seymore the Eagle mascot. I wish my camera wasn't broken cause he had some cute moments shaking his hand. There were a few exciting points in the game but when it was all over Rice won 45-40. After the game we saw a few people we knew that work for the team. We got some Southern Miss hats and little guy got an official Southern Miss Football from the guys. We hurried home to watch the LSU game on tv. Little guy fell asleep on the ride home and was down for the count.

Today was a really lazy day. We spent the morning hanging around the house getting a few things done. After lunch and a nap we went to the park for a little fresh air. It was nice to be outdoors.  While coming back from the park little guy noticed two squirrels climbing the trees in front of the house. He says look mom it is a gochickawowwow. I couldn't stop from laughing. I said you mean the squirrels? He said "Nope they are gochickawowwows!" The things that come out of his mouth lately.
This evening after dinner we played our new Scooby board game. Mommy was Velma, Maddox was Scooby and Daddy was Shaggy. Velma won or should I say Velma solved the case as usual. Then it was off to bed.

Dentist

This morning was our first trip to the dentist. This has been on the list for awhile but I just kept putting it off. Well a couple of months ago when I saw that my niece had some fillings in her baby teeth I got nervous. At my son's yearly checkup I asked his pedi for a recommendation. She gave me 4 names. I did a little research and picked one I thought would be good based on the reviews. I have been trying to get little guy all excited about going to the dentist this past week by giving him stars for brushing his teeth, telling him how the dentist will make his teeth pretty and white, basically anything to get him excited.
This morning he tells me he doesn't want to go to the dentist he wants mommy to clean his teeth. So mommy is a little concerned there may be trouble ahead. We get to the office and he immediately makes friends with the ladies at the front desk.

He shows them all his Superfrieds figures. A very nice staff lady comes out and tells us both what they are going to do. She tells him that if he takes good pics (x-rays) of his teeth he can get a BIG sticker. If he is good the whole time he can pick out two prizes and get a balloon when he goes home. He was super excited after hearing about the possibility of a suprise. He asked her "What could it be?" she says "You get to pick it?" He says "Is it candy?" she says "Nope sorry no candy!" I chuckled on the inside. Candy at a dentists office.
All the staff members were wearing Scooby scrubs. When little guy saw the scooby shirt he started singing the theme song to Scooby for her. He went to the back and was very good about taking his x-rays. I am super proud cause you could tell he didn't like it at all but he didn't complain and did exactly what she said. He got a big sticker for doing such a good job. After that he went to the next room and layed down on the table to let the lady clean his teeth. He said the spin thing felt cool and he loved the spit sucker.
The doctor then came in to check everything out. She said his teeth looked good and that he has lots of space which is great. On the x-rays you could see his big teeth above the little ones. That was pretty cool. She said just keep on brushing and we would be back in 6 months. While I was meeting with the doctor to go over the x-rays little guy got to go pick out his prizes and play with the toys. He picked out a halloween fake finger with a big red nail and a pirates eye patch. Overall the experience was A+++

School is Cool

Woke up this morning with a smile on his face. Good sign! Told him we were going to the new school today. "Alright mommy lets get dressed!" Dressed and fed we headed out the door. He chose to ride with Mommy, although Daddy was going to meet us there. When we pulled up "New school Woooo Hooo!" is what I heard from the back seat. At this point I am thinking to myself "Hmmm and I was worried." We signed in and were told to bring him to the cafeteria. We sat down at one of the tables with a girl that had been in his class at South Shore, Jordan. That seemed to make it easier. We gained a crowd quite quickly. Most of the other kids came over to the table to check us out. The teacher that Maddox would have was there. Her name is Jennifer and from our brief encounter she seems very nice. She has a son that is probably between the age of 1-2. Before we left Maddox asked where Ms. Francis was. I told him Ms. Francis stayed at the old school and that he would get a new teacher that he would liek. He seemed a little sad. I told him we had to go. He gave us hugs and kisses and didn't put up a fight for us to stay.

I must say it really killed me to know he was at a new school and to not be able to check on him via the net. I can't wait till they have that setup. So I was still curious to know how things were going.

When I went to pick him up.... He didn't want to leave. He was having such a good time playing with all of the toys. With every step he would pick up something new to play with. He really didn't want to leave. In the lobby instead of a Merry-go-Round there is a train set. I think it was easier with the Merry-go-Round. I had him trained that two times around maximum. This train thing took me several minutes to pull him away from. I kept telling him that all of the things he was enjoying would still be there tomorrow. On the way to home he kept telling me he wanted to go back now. He proceeded to unbuckle his seatbelt to go back. I think he enjoyed himself today. The only thing I noticed was that on his paper for the day it said that he didn't take a nap. He was so excited he didn't take a nap.
I think I was worried for nothin'

Transition

10-10-08
So basically since we found out that the owners of the daycare we went to were opening a new one down the road from our house we have been trying to decide what to do. We like the daycare we go to. We have friends that have their kids there. He has been going there since he was 10 weeks old. He has been with some of the same kids for that long. The teachers all know him...for good or bad. We do like it there. So you ask, Why move? Well here are some of the things we came up with.
1. It is really close to the house. (less than a mile)
2. For atleast a little while he would have fewer classmates. (Get more help with his listening skills)
3. My husband would save a ton of time and gas when he drops off.
4. The kids he would be in school with would probably be some of the same ones he would attend school with throughout his academic life.
5. We would eventually have to switch as the other daycare will not bus to our side of town for the new elementary school.
6. It is better to have all the kids new at the same time than moving him later when the other children already know eachother.

Even with all the reasons to stay and all the reasons to go we were still torn. We didn't make a decision until last Thursday and the new school opens 10-13-08.

Finally went by to check it out on Thursday and took little guy with me. He absolutely loved it. He was very excited about it so we decided to just go with it. We filled out the paperwork on Friday and he was supposed to start on Monday. At the last minute Granny came back with us on Sunday to hang out with little guy while she had Columbus Day off work.

I am nervous about the transition but I am sure that it will all be great. You know getting to know new teachers, new directors, new kids. He was excited about the new building but I believe he thought all of his friends were going to be going too.

Sunshine Report

The other day when picking little guy up from daycare I asked his teacher how he was for the day. She said he got a paper to check at the front desk. I automatically moaned cause that usually means that there is either a Boo-Boo report or an Oh-No report. Personally I am not fond of either one.
Well when I picked up the paper.... Surprise... Surprise... It was a Sunshine Report. How bout that! It was for listening and helping out all day in class. Yippeee! Maybe we have turned a corner.
Lately he has spent a lot of time in Time-out for not listening.
When I went in his class to pick him up the teacher next door gushed over how great he was that day.
If every day could go so well... Life would be sweet!

10-7-08
Mommy - "What do you want for breakfast, pancakes or waffles?"
Little Man - "Ice cream!"

Mystery

The mystery of the Mailbox. In the evenings lately little guy and I have been going out for walks around the neighborhood. The weather has been so beautiful I hate to waste it by staying indoors. Normally we will walk to the mailbox and grab the mail and then walk. So when we weren't headed to the mailbox he wanted to know why. I told him that the mailbox was not there. Lets just say he didn't believe me. He wanted to go see for himself that it was not there. So we walk over and I show him that all that is left are the screws the rest of the mailbox is gone. He looks very curious and says " Very Mysterious, Very Mysterious!". We go on our walk and get back home. When his daddy gets home he is telling him about the day and says "We have a mystery on our hands! The mailbox is missing. Where did it go? Who will know?"

P.S. The mailbox blew over during Ike and the post office had it removed while they order another one. I have been going up to the post office once a week to retrieve the mail. I am glad it was only temporary. Waiting in line stinks. Yesterday they replaced our box, but now we have to get new keys and it is facing the opposite direction from the old boxes. Very Mysterious!

Brown Eyes

At the zoo this weekend my son bumped his head on the carousel bear. It hit him right to the outside of his eye. While looking at it and talking to my husband I made the comment "Boy I hope he doesn't get a black eye!" Hubby says "Guess we will have to wait and see if he gets a black eye." Little guy was muttering something during this exchange that I didn't get so I asked him to repeat it. He slowly tells me with tears welling up "Mommy I have brown eyes. I no want black eyes. I like my brown eyes." Poor guy thought his eyes were actually going to turn from brown to black.

Luckily his eye never got black, the bruise stayed to the outer corner without spreading much. Today it was totally gone.

Please excuse the quality. These are from little man's camera. Mine broke. I do love the effects you can put on pics. Like the one of Mr. Bryan.

A boy and the dog

My little guy sure did enjoy his time at Auntie Una & Uncle Mac's. They were really nice to let us stay with them for a whole week. I must say that the favorite part for the little one was playing with Pi "Paisan" the Italian Spinone.

Back to School

Back to daycare today! After a week off I was very worried. This morning he laid it on thick. "Mommy I wanna stay home with you and play!" "Mommy please stay with me!" "Mommy please don't go!" "I go work with you!" I stayed with him a few minutes in the cafeteria while he ate his breakfast that he hadn't finished at home or in the car. Every time I got up to leave he would hold on to my arm as tight as he could and kiss it. Then tell me to stay. Finally I pried away and told him "Goodbye!" Normally I just leave and don't look back but today after I had gone outside I looked back and he had his head in his hands crying. It broke my heart. Even though I know that soon after he was fine I was just a little worried that he would act up today. To my great relief and surprise actually "He was GREAT!" Now if we could just keep that up I would be in heaven.

Alligators at the Park

Back in my lovely hometown of Jennings, LA they have a great park. It is the I-10 park and it is a gem. They have a small lake with ducks to feed. It has a great walking track and an alligator house. Did I forget to mention a great many slides and swings. Can you believe I had not brought my son to this masterpiece of a park yet. I spent many a childhood day at this park. So I decided we should make a trip of it. We got some lunch, fed the ducks, held a baby alligator, watched the big alligators and the giant snapping turtle, and then played on all the playground equiptment.

It was a gorgeous day to be outside.

Beautiful Weekend

This weekend was absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect. Couldn't ask for better. Friday night we hung out and went by the mall.

Saturday we spent the morning running errands and being productive. We went to the little man's favorite drive thru-- the Bank! We then hit his second favorite spot... Mic Odonalds!
After Daddy finally got off work we headed for the beach! We ran into one of the little guy's sitters on the way. Miss Jenna. So nice to see her. She is just awesome!
Then off we went to meet the Rhodes crew. For some fun in the sun!

It was like we were on the French Riviera with the sites of the day. We saw thongs and speedos and none of them looked like Giselle or Michael Phelps.

The boys had a great time playing in the water and in the sand. I bet despite all of the scrubbing Maddox still probably has sand in his hair. He was covered head to toe, actually both boys were.
A nice day to play. As we were leaving the beach Maddox told me "I want Landon, he is my best friend." It was so sweet!
After the beach we headed home to change for dinner. We went to one of Daddy's friends houses. They live in the country and have a HUGE yard. They have 4 horses and lots of cats. The also had a Fort playhouse with a fireman's pole, a rope, ramp and a gravel pit for the tractors. The little guy was in hog heaven. Not to mention there were 4 kids for him to play with. He played with the tractors, climbed up in the fort, chased the cats, pet the horses, played with the kids and tons of toys. He had a blast!
Mommy and Daddy enjoyed their evening too. We had our first real carbs in two weeks... and it was crawfish fettucini. yum! I think Maddox was on overload from the fun of the day cause on the way home he passed out cold.
Sunday we mostly spent the day relaxing. Which was wonderful.

Grandparents

This weekend with Hurricane Gustav approaching we had relatives descend on our house. Grandparents to be exact. We had MawMaw Pont, Uncle Larry, Pawsy Vige & Granny Mac all come visit our little corner of the world. MawMaw Pont and Uncle Larry have never been this way before so it was nice to show them around. Lets just say the little guy was in hog heaven. He loves company. He loves to show off his house, his toys and anything else that he could show off. He played cards with Uncle Larry (tried to teach Maddox how to play battle). He played with his play*do with Paw.

He played play*do & mini skate boarding with Granny Mac. He showed them all his love for the Superfriends, Scooby Doo and the Backyardigans. Overall I believe he had the best Labor Day holiday of all. He didn't worry about any storm and he enjoyed the company. We even took him to the beach on Sunday. He loves the beach. He jumped the waves, he actually made his own sand castles, and didn't tear them all down. It was a great weekend. I believe the family is going to try to head out soon. I know he will be disappointed when everyone leaves.

Dude Night

So my boys had a Dude Night last night. Their first real big one anyway. They went to the pre-season Texans game. When he saw Reliant Stadium he told his Daddy, "Go that way! Circus!". The last time we were there was for the Circus. Last night at the game they had a great time. Rode on the "espalators" and had popcorn. Little guy keeps telling me he went to a basball game and then he says football. Other than a break for a couple of potty stops they both enjoyed the game. Maddox played High five, Low five, You're too slow with a guy sitting by them. From what I have heard that was a big hit all around. I believe Dude Night might be the wave of the future. "Mommy no go Dude Night!"

Football

My little guy is following in his dad's love of football. The other day he was all about football anyway. Who knows if it will last. For his birthday one of his presents was some new clothes for his monkey Friday from Build-A-Bear. We needed to go to the mall so I decided to take him to get Friday's new clothes. He went straight for the football gear. He decided Friday must be a football player. He was so excited to show Daddy later that night Friday's new outfit. When it was time to go to bed he wanted Friday to wear jammies so he took off his football gear. He then went in to the study with the helmet part of the outfit and kept calling for me to put it up. I told him we should put it in his room with the rest of his clothes, but he insisted that we put it in the study. I thought this was odd but followed him in there. Then it dawned on me what he had in mind. On the top of one of our bookshelves is Daddy's Southern Miss helmet. He wanted to put Friday's helmet right next to his Daddy's. So in his words "They could be statues together!"

Ice Cream, You Scream, We All Scream for Green?

So for the little guy's birthday last week, him, Landon & I went out for ice cream. Maddox got Mint (green) with sprinkles and Landon got Cotton Candy (blue) with sprinkles. I figured they liked the colors and that is how they made their choices. Tonight Daddy brought little guy for ice cream since he was good this weekend and at school today. He once again wanted the green Mint ice cream. This time however, instead of sprinkles he wanted gummy bears. So in his last 3 visits to the ice cream shop he has asked for either pistachio or mint. You think he has a thing for green ice cream. Maybe he would like green eggs and ham. I should try making all of his food green. He does really like green beans and green jello. Maybe I have stumbled on to something.

Some Funnies from a Bad Day

So yesterday we are in the car headed home (son had a bad day at school) when I ask him what happened. He states matter of factly "It Stress!". So later in the conversation I tell him he needs to listen to his teachers. He tells me "Listening it logical!" I ask him if he knows what listening is and he tells me "I no listen, I big boy!" LOL

Happy Birthday

Just a note to say "Happy Birthday!" to my little guy who is now 3 years old. Boy how time flies. It doesn't seem like that long ago that you came into this world. My little man you came into the world at 9lbs 14 oz and 21.7" long. I am sure that time will continue to fly by and I will be amazed by how fast you have grown. Speaking of grown, you are still such a big boy. I am looking forward to seeing Dr. Ingraham on Thursday to get the official scoop on just how much you have grown. I know that you are still off the charts, as usual. My sweet little guy. You surprise me everyday with the things you do and say. Just wanted to let you know that I love you and that I am enjoying watching you grow up.
