New Names
This week we have each been given a new name. Not sure who decided our old ones weren't working but here is the new name list...
Mommy ... aka "The Saver"
Daddy... aka "The Wrapper"
Milo... aka "The Licker"
Little Guy... aka "The Strongest Man"
So if you are wondering the story behind all this. I will do my best. Mommy has been named as I have been told because "She is always saving people from trouble." Daddy I believe got his name because he is always wrapping people up at work. Milo's name is pretty self explanatory. He is very affectionate. The little guy has decided that he is the strongest man because "He is always lifting heavy things and has super strong muscles."
Speaking of muscles we went to the park today before the rain. While he was climbing the rock wall he says "I have to stop climbing the rock wall. It is too hard and is going to break my muscles."

The 4th of July
This morning we drove down to the beach before the crowds came out. We had a nice couple of hours in the sun. After we played in the surf, sand and sun we headed back to town for lunch. We checked out the Philly Cheesesteak at Lenny's (yummy)! Then we went home and all had a nap. We broke up into 3 and got stuff done after that...Granny went to Best Buy, Max went to Lowe's and Mommy prepped dinner. We had a yummy dinner. Steamed corn on the cob, Turkey mignons, grilled bacon wrapped chicken, cucumber and tomato salad and for desert we had red (strawberries), white (cool whip & angel food cake), blue (blueberries) and chocolate dessert. We all ate too much. After dinner we hopped in the car and went out in search of fireworks displays. We saw a couple of good shows. We even brought Milo to join in the fun.

Seth's 5th Birthday Party
Just got the pictures downloaded from my camera for Seth's 5th Birthday! We had a great time at Shankz Black Light Miniature Golf. Maddox was a little worried about it being dark when we first got there. He was happy to see Seth and Landon. The black light golf course was really cool and by the end of 18 holes, he had gotten the hang of it. He enjoyed the pizza but wanted to know where the cake was hiding. We all really had a great time playing the ball shooting in the balladium.

Farm Town

My Farm Town Layout
Maddox's Farm
Lately I have to admit... I have been spending way too much time on Farm Town (A lovely game on Facebook). Well in all my playing I have made a new Farm Town buddy. The little guy loves Farm Town. Every time he sees me playing he asks me to "Super Zoom!" so that he can see the entire farm. So today he decided that the computer game wasn't good enough. He broke out the real tractors and farm equipment from his play set. So we set up the big farm on the dining room table. Here are a few pics of our fun.

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day to my someone special. I know you read my blog so I am going to take this opportunity to tell you just how much we love you...and just how special you are to us!
You have been a father for almost 4 years now and you are just the BEST. I can't imagine a more loving and caring father. You are always there for the little guy no matter what. Even though you work crazy hours your family always comes first. You make sure that every moment you spend with us is quality time. I love to watch you with the little guy...Maddox is so lucky to have you. You are an intelligent, well mannered, successful, caring, loving man and I truly believe that you will pass all of those fine characteristics on to our son. For myself I can't imagine a better friend or partner. Thank you for being you! Happy Father's Day... Daddy! We love you.
Happy Father's Day
A Dad is a person
who is loving and kind,
And often he knows
what you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens,
suggests, and defends.
A dad can be one
of your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs,
but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient
and helpful and strong
In all that you do,
a dad's love plays a part.
There's always a place for him
deep in your heart.
And each year that passes,
you're even more glad,
More grateful and proud
just to call him your dad!
Thank you, Dad...
for listening and caring,
for giving and sharing,
but, especially, for just being you!
Happy Father's Day
We spent our Father's Day morning at the beach and our afternoon hanging out together. Here are a few of my favorite pictures.

First Day at The Pool

Although little guy has been in swimming lessons since February, the weekend before I left for Florida we finally made it to our pool. Of course if they would have been open during the week and not just weekends we probably would have made it sooner. So we spent 15 glorious minutes of the boys enjoying the water before the pool closed. They got in some swimming, some kicking and some back floating. Can't wiat till I get back the pool will be open everyday.

Missing My Boys
Been away a few days now. Although work is going well here in Florida, this trip has been harder than the last couple. I will be away longer for this one than the others by a couple of days. My little guy was not happy about me leaving to begin with. Before I left he kept telling me not to leave and that he wanted to come with me. Boy wouldn't that be nice. The little guy has been very talkative on the phone to me this week as well. Tonight he told me to hurry home. He also told me that when I get home he wants a Super Duper Mommy Kiss. Talk about heart warming and sad all at the same time. I really miss my boys and can't wait to see them!

Milo
Well if you haven't heard by now let me tell you all about our new addition. This past Sunday we picked up Lone Star Milo Vige. He is the cutest little black Miniature Schnauzer. So sweet and loves people.
We had been planning to get the little guy a dog for his birthday in August. He has been asking for a dog for the past year for every holiday. So we decided to start the search for a puppy for him. We decided once again to go with the Miniature Schnauzer. You know... they don't shed and make awesome house dogs. We found a breeder in the Houston area and checked to see if they would have puppies in the timeframe we were looking. Right after we started talking to them about puppies. One who had previously been sold wasn't able to go to his new home. He was exactly what I had been looking for so we decided to make an appointment to check him out. As soon as Maddox found out we were going to check out a dog, that is all he talked about. The whole way to the house in the country he wanted to know where his dog was. Too make it easier for him we showed him a picture of the dog before we went. We also showed him pics of other dogs earlier and he liked the pic of the little pup we were going to see the best.
We had to wait a couple of days before we could go check out the little pooch. In that time we decided on a name that would fit our future pup and fit into the M.Vige clan. As you can tell by the title of the post...his name is Milo. The whole time we rode to Huffman Texas our little guy kept asking where we were going to find his dog and if we were there yet.
Once we got to the house to pick him up it was love at first sight. When handed to the boys, Milo made instant friends with his affection for both of them. We decided he was the pup for us and packed him up and headed back to the house for the beginning of our adventure raising a puppy with a 3.5 year old.

Did you know...?

Did you know there are ninjas at church? We saw one. Well my son saw one. Most people would call this person a Priest. My little guy thinks that the Priest and the alter servers are all a band of ninjas. Can't you see the resemblance from the pictures above? So next time you go to church, watch out there might be ninjas.

Galveston County Fair Cook-off
For the past few years the Hubby's office sponsors a cook-off team and each year we try to go see them at the Galveston County Fair. This year we were supposed to go on Friday night but with me getting back into town late after being out of town for a week and another torrential downpour we opted to stay home. However, Saturday we decided to go out to the fair with the little guy and have some fun.
We walked around and looked at all the cooking team booths, checked out the fair for a little bit. Maddox threw around of darts and got a bright orange dog.
Then we headed back to the cooking tents. By this point they had cranked up the music and after eating a couple cup cakes and bread the little guy started to feel the beat. He danced his little heart out.
He even got a lady to ask him to slow dance. He was a little shy at first but then he decided to take for a spin around the dance floor.
After we left the tents the little guy wanted to do a couple of rides, so we bought a few tickets. He was a real trooper and climbed the BIG slide only for us to see once he got to the top there was no one there to help him out like the last time he went. So Hubby climbed up and they both slid down together. After the slide he took a trip through the fun house and then we called it a night.

Rain Rain Go Away

That is how we all felt last Saturday when a quick trip to the mall before my week out of town turned into an all day event. I have been needing to go get my watch fixed for ages. I had it down on my list for that day. Hubby wanted to go pick up some new shoes so we all went to the mall. We got all of our stuff done pretty quickly but on the way out of the mall it started to rain.
I didn't think it would be a big deal but it dumped buckets of water quickly. We were on the I-45 feeder road headed home and the water was rising fast. Normally we would have taken the hubby's truck but little guy was asleep in the backseat when we headed to the mall so we took my car. I being the nervous nelly that I am got a little worried when I could feel the water under the car. We decided to pull of the road and wait for the water to go down.... not knowing this storm would last FOREVER! The little guy fell asleep again so that was good news. The bad news we had to wait 3.5 hours for the water to go down enough to be passable. There were about 10 other cars waiting with us. One guy got impatient, left too soon and flooded out his car. Making everyone else waiting even more patient. Little guy woke up during our wait and asked if we were there yet! We all got a good laugh out of that. Can I just tell you 3 people stuck in a non-moving car, with no radio, no a/c, and the windows up in the rain for that long really gets old after awhile. Even though I was a nervous wreck the little guy was pretty good for a 3.5 year old in that situation.
We finally got out of the parking lot and back to near the house. All the entrances to our subdivision were totally flooded over. People were parked on the sides of each of the roads. We hadn't eaten in awhile so we decided to go grab dinner and hopefully the water would go down and we could get to the house. We had a yummy dinner at the Fish Place. After dinner we found the roads still covered so we decided to go check out the hubby's office. We made it there just fine. Spent a couple of hours there cleaning up a little water that had gotten in and printing off my boarding pass for the next morning to Alabama.
We headed home for a 3rd time. This time the water was still over the roads but we decided to leave the car with the others and walk home. We walked about 2 blocks to the house around the cul-de-sac behind our house. It was 10:30pm when we finally made it home. What a crazy day!! I finally was able to move the car into the driveway about 2am and there was still water on the roads the next morning.

Easter 2009
The mad Easter rush has begun. The school party and egg hunt. Which involved a dozen plastic eggs stuffed with something other than chocolate or peanut butter that is individually wrapped and the last minute buying of treats for the party I wasn't told about. The eggs were stuffed with Starburst chews and rub on tatoos. The peeps, cookies and fruit snacks were purchased at the Target down the road for the party. Then we move on to the planning for the annual whirlwind trip back to Louisiana. This includes the dying of the eggs to be pocked in Eunice.
The trip to the attic to obtain the plastic eggs for the Kid & Dogs Egg Hunt. The planning for the family meals.

The Shoot Out
Uncle Randy and Aunt Debbie came to town this week for their 3 month visit to the Doctor. We love having them come and stay with us, especially little guy. He thinks Uncle Randy is the BOMB. He gets so excited showing off when they come to visit. This trip was no exception. He showed him his toys, told him about his movies, and they even shook their booties and had a shoot out. I hope you enjoy this video of them playing shoot em up!
