Future Chiropractor?

Yesterday I went by the good Doctor's office to see if he could work on me. While we were there Maddox and the good Doctor decided to trade adjustments.
He might just be a future Chiro someday.

He has taken great joy in working on us lately. But just be glad your Chiropractor has not implemented this move yet...

What Did I Get Myself Into?

I got in the laundry bag. Now I am not sure how to get out!
Really guys are you going to get me out of here?

Jacob's Safari Birthday

One of Maddox's classmates had a great party at the Bayou Wildlife Park. We have been there a bunch but it is always fun. They have added some new animals since we were there last which is always nice to see.
Maddox and his cousin checking out the Emu. Check out Maddox's Emu face.
They got up close feeding a deer some weeping willow leaves. I think Maddox enjoyed this part the most.
This one is funny cause the horse had an itch so it backed up to the gate with Maddox on him and scratched its hind end for a few minutes.
Maddox and one of his classmates petting the Zonkey.
All dressed up and ready for the safari. Such a great idea giving the kids hats and binoculars.
They had a great time...up until...
We were overcome by the camels. I think the kiddos were a little overwhelmed.
It was a great party and a beautiful day. It was the first of May so I could never imagine having a party like this for Maddox in August. Way too hot!

Uncle Nate

Update: Uncle Nate is doing well. He had surgery to remove some of the brain tumor. He responded well. Tests show that it is very slow growing and a very rare form. He has a good prognosis.
Keep him and his family in your prayers for us.

Yesterday we learned some really scary news, one of our best friends from college Nate was diagnosed with a brain tumor. For those of you that don't know Nate he was Max's college roommate and served in our wedding. He was the person who introduced me to Max our Freshman year in college. He is a very dear friend. He just got married this past November to a wonderful woman Genie Alice. We love him like family. He is Maddox's Uncle Nate. Please if you can pray for Nate, his new bride and his family during this very scary time.

The boys have had so much fun playing the Wii game Let's Dance. Here are a few pictures from an evening a while back at the Rhodes'.

Swim Lessons

Proud of his stamp after class

The little guy started swimming lessons at the end of March and has absolutely loved it. He is really improving and I can't wait to be able to practice with him when our community pool opens later this month. Here are a few pics from lessons. Forgive the blurriness most were taken with my cell phone from a good distance.
Talking to Mr. Albert his teacher the first day
Back float or as they refer to it Airplane position
                                                          Swimming back to the steps
His favorite part of class when he gets lifted to touch the fish hanging from the ceiling
Showing off one of his favorite stamps after class

I apologize

I must apologize to all my family who read this blog for updates on Maddox. I am way behind and I know it. I will do my best to catch up. Please forgive me for not doing a better job of keeping this up to date.

Karate Kid

Maddox has always been interested in Karate. He loves to practice whatever he sees that has to do with Karate. Well today he was in hog heaven. We went to Ralph Parr Elementary open house. While we were there they had different groups do presentations and demonstrations. We happened to get there right in time for the martial arts extravaganza. There was kicking, sparring, grunting, jumping, twirling of sticks and swords, everything to feed right in to his love. Well when they asked for volunteers to break wood he had his hand up high. He went up to the front with the others to get lessons on what to do. A couple of other students came by to show each of the volunteers what to do and then they brought out the wood. Maddox was thrilled when he broke the board in half. He relived that moment all day long asking us to hold the two pieces up together so he could prove his strength. I have a feeling after swimming lessons is finished we may be signing up for some martial arts classes.

Happy Birthday Milo!

Today is Milo's first birthday. I am so thankful that we added Milo to our family. Even though it is more work and planning at times, I know that Maddox truly loves his dog. They are so fun to watch.
Enjoy the Milo Slide Show.

Daylight Savings

This afternoon when I picked Maddox up after school we had enough time to enjoy the daylight hours. He rode his bike to the new school and all around it. He even went around the drop off circles in the parking lot which he called loopty loops. I got a good bit of walking in while he was riding. Going to try to do some more of this. I love the extra hours of light I get to enjoy with daylight savings.

Playing at the Park

This past Saturday was just glorious. We met the Payne's for some time at the park. All the boys had so much fun. I got tired just watching them. Here are some pics from the outing.

I can't wait for many more days like this. Great company, beautiful day, and lots of fun had by all.

Boys

Maddox has been eagerly anticipating spending time with his buddy Landon. Tonight they had a ball. They bounced up and down during dinner like a pair of Mexican jumping beans.
They showed off their new Scooby Doo tatoos.
They played a couple of games on the Wii.
They ran up the slide and down the slide and under and over and in between.
They tried to get Milo on the slide.
They played with toys.
They gave bear hugs.
They watched a movie...on and off.
They played fetch and chase with the dog.
They played Ants vs Knights and everyone vs the Monster (Momster)
And Milo took it all in and enjoyed every tiring moment.
They had a wonderful time. I hope they both sleep well tonight!
