Christmas Recap

Alrighty so the pictures uploaded in reverse order so you all will get a reverse recap!
ENJOY!!!

Maddox showing off all of his Star Wars figures. Trying to see how many he could hold at once.

Christmas Eve Baseball! Maddox fielding the ball. Both of the brothers got their little one a baseball T, glove, bat & balls for Christmas and neither one had spoken to the other before they bought it. Talk about great minds thinking alike...and the kids loved them.

First Day of Kindergarten

Today was the big day! Maddox started Kindergarten. I am not sure who was more excited me or him. He did great this morning for drop off. His teacher seems like a nice lady. He liked her as soon as he met her. I can't wait to get his report of how the day went. It was just surreal to bring him to school this morning. He is growing up so fast.

My Entertainer

Lately my little guy has been so entertaining. He has always liked to sing and dance. He even plays a pretty mean air guitar. Recently he has started composing his own songs and performing them for us. He hops around, dances all over the room, sometimes some break dancing moves are involved. There is lots of heartfelt singing. We often get rock songs but occassionally there is a ballad thrown in for good measure. He takes it so seriously you would think he was actually performing for a stadium full of people. Maybe I should get that boy some singing or piano lessons in case he really is interested in a performing career later on. Perhaps one day I will see him on

No Kindergarten For Me Mom

Another great conversation from the car trips of the weekend. All the sudden Maddox bursts out "Mom I can't go to Kindergarten!" I asked why not? He tells me the following, "Well Mr. Stefan said that they don't take naps. Mom you know I need my naps. When I don't nap I am not that good. I can't go to Kindergarten. I just can't give up my nap!" I told him that he really doesn't have to worry about that just yet. He is going to a new school next year but I believe they still have nap time for that age group. We shall see whether he gets to keep nap time or not. Stay tuned...

I Learned A New Word

Last night while driving home from seeing Uncle Nate in the hospital I learned a new word. We grabbed dinner on the way home. Maddox got some milk to drink. I handed him the milk and had loosened the cap. A little while later he was handing it back asking me to "Undo the Milkstrap". You see the milk had a foil cap across the mouth of the bottle. I was schooled on the fact that this is apparantly called a "MILKSTRAP"
So now you know too! Add it to your vocabulary. You never know when you will come across a milkstrap in your daily life.

Hanging with the Boys

This morning while Ms. Jodie was working hard on bringing Mackenzie Paige into the world I got the honor of hanging with the boys for a bit. We had a grand time. Here are a few pictures of our morning.
Special congrats to the Rhodes family on the arrival of baby Mackenzie this morning! Can't wait to meet her.

We played some wii!

and with a bunch of toys...

and caught a couple episodes of Phineas and Ferb!
Hit the swings in the back

searched for spiders and bugs..
and just had a generally awesome time playing...

Graduation from Kids R Kids

Maddox recently had graduation from Kids R Kids. It was a really nice program. I will be sad when he moves on. He has a really great teacher. Mr. Stefan that he has really enjoyed.

Memorial Weekend 2010

This year was pretty laid back weekend. We got in a little tractor riding. Thanks Uncle Randy!

We got in a little bit of T-ball in the yard with the other kids. Even though I don't have a picture of it from this weekend there was a lot of bike riding in the LONG driveway.
We had a wonderful crawfish boil. Andre did a wonderful job on the boiling!

There was a lot of hanging around talking to friends and family. A little basketball was watched.
The kiddos enjoyed some rest and refresh time.
On Sunday we went to church and then to the I-10 park. We checked out the alligators, ducks and turtles , as well as having a bunch of fun on all of the slides.

Milo got a hair cut on Sunday and Monday! We started on Sunday and finished it up with some new clippers on Monday. A lot of napping was done during the weekend. The good Doctor even made a house call while we were home. Which I am happy to report seems to have helped out. Hope you are feeling better Uncle Donn E! To everyone we got a chance to visit with it was great to see you all.

Future Chiropractor?

Yesterday I went by the good Doctor's office to see if he could work on me. While we were there Maddox and the good Doctor decided to trade adjustments.
He might just be a future Chiro someday.

He has taken great joy in working on us lately. But just be glad your Chiropractor has not implemented this move yet...

What Did I Get Myself Into?

I got in the laundry bag. Now I am not sure how to get out!
Really guys are you going to get me out of here?

Jacob's Safari Birthday

One of Maddox's classmates had a great party at the Bayou Wildlife Park. We have been there a bunch but it is always fun. They have added some new animals since we were there last which is always nice to see.
Maddox and his cousin checking out the Emu. Check out Maddox's Emu face.
They got up close feeding a deer some weeping willow leaves. I think Maddox enjoyed this part the most.
This one is funny cause the horse had an itch so it backed up to the gate with Maddox on him and scratched its hind end for a few minutes.
Maddox and one of his classmates petting the Zonkey.
All dressed up and ready for the safari. Such a great idea giving the kids hats and binoculars.
They had a great time...up until...
We were overcome by the camels. I think the kiddos were a little overwhelmed.
It was a great party and a beautiful day. It was the first of May so I could never imagine having a party like this for Maddox in August. Way too hot!

Uncle Nate

Update: Uncle Nate is doing well. He had surgery to remove some of the brain tumor. He responded well. Tests show that it is very slow growing and a very rare form. He has a good prognosis.
Keep him and his family in your prayers for us.

Yesterday we learned some really scary news, one of our best friends from college Nate was diagnosed with a brain tumor. For those of you that don't know Nate he was Max's college roommate and served in our wedding. He was the person who introduced me to Max our Freshman year in college. He is a very dear friend. He just got married this past November to a wonderful woman Genie Alice. We love him like family. He is Maddox's Uncle Nate. Please if you can pray for Nate, his new bride and his family during this very scary time.
